Greetings! I am hoping that someone can help to steer me in the right direction to help me find the birth record for my great, great, grandmother who, according to records I found, was born in Basel, Switzerland. According to my records, she was born on 22 Oct 1865 (but it could be 1864.) I figure there are civil registration records for Basel but I have no idea where to look for them.

If anyone out there can help me, it would be most appreciated. Her name was:

Elisabeth (or Maria Elizabeth) Fischer (or maybe Bohringer, bepending on what records you look at!) Her father's name was Charles and her mother's name was Barbara Bohringer.
