Yes it does makes sense.

I am actually the daughter of JoAnne (Kohler) Rieger as she is now 82 years old and limited in the use of the computer.

All information that you provided me is correct also. JoAnne does remember her grandfather and has pictures of both Karl and Anna in her house so she can help with identification of Karl and Anna.

This is very exciting and I wish I had done more research before we went to Switzerland, my family told me there was nothing more to be found.
