Looking for information on Hans and Barbara THOMON/THOMMEN from Bern, Switzerland. At least six of their children moved to America from Bern. Their birth dates have a wide span so there could be more children that stayed in Switzerland.
The children I have identified are:
Mary (born Abt 1828),
Jacob (born Abt Sep 1838),
Johann Friedrich (born 12 Oct 1839 went by John in the US).
Emil (born Oct 1856 Wynau),
Arnold (born abt Apr 1859 Wynau),
Karl Otto (born 14 Apr 1861 Wynau).
Mary lived with her brother Jacob in Lewis County, New York. She has no known children.
Emil settled in The Dalles, Wasco County, Oregon where he married and started a family and lived out the rest of his life.
Arnold and Karl first settled in The Dalles, Oregon with their brother Emil and then moved to Ellensburg, Kittitas County, Washington. Arnold never married and never had any children, he committed suicide in 1905 on his brother Karl's farm. Karl married and lived out the rest of his life in Kittitas County, Washington.
Johann Friedrich (John) lived in Lewis County, New York. He sent a few of his children to live in America with his brothers until he moved with the rest of his family. Four of his kids ended up moving to Kittitas County, Washington with at least two living with their uncle Karl Otto and eventually ended up marrying and settling. Another settled in Yakima, Yakima County Washington. The fourth appears to have moved back to Lewis County, New York to be near family that was still there. The family remained close despite the distances between them.
If anyone has any information about their parents or more siblings, I'd sure appreciate it!
