Anyone familiar with Romansch pronunciations? I'm looking for someone found here in US as last name SCHMITH. I believe this person is listed at http://mypage.bluewin.ch/hendry-tarcisi/ (very nice site) as SCHMID. I know these spelling changes are somewhat random, but might there be a linguistic reason?

Also, I'm finding CAPEDER and PEDER somewhat interchanged; also BEDER. Might the CA be a "of" prefix or something that might make sense to drop?
