I don't know anything about Kerns but Kaspar (sometimes spelt with a C) came from Lechenstieg in Switz. He came here after his father passed and there was a dispute about the ski lodge the family owned his wife Anna followed 3 years later and their 6 children were born here in NYC. There may have been one child born in Europe who went back and was lost during the war I can find no record of this child. The earlist record I have of Kaspar's family is the 1900 census where this child is not listed. all I know is a him is a story I heard my father tell once. IF you know anything about a Fontz (not sure of the spelling) who left NYC in the 1930's to go to Germany and join the nazi's I be interested to hear more.
