My ggrandparents were Martin Luther Heusi (b.8 Aug 1832 and later Hisey)and Salomea Stamm Heusi (b.23 April 1839 and later called Sarah) both in Schleitheim, Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Four children were born in Schleitheim (Elizabeth, Barbara, George, and Anna) before emigrating to Ohio in 1860, where 8 more daughters were born (Emma, Bertha, Mathilda, Delphina, Minnie, Pauline, Blanche, and Aleda). Blanche was my grandmother. Martin disappeared either before or after the family moved to a farm near Coleman, Isabella County, Michigan.
Martin Luther Heusi's parents were Martin Heusi (b.31 Aug 1788; d.17 Aug 1788) and Elizabeth Meyer, both of Schleitheim. Their second child, Berta, married Jakob Bachtold; they remained in Switzerland and had at least two children: Jakob, Edward, and Helena--who married Henry Luginbuhl.
Sarah was born Salomea Stamm; her parents were George Stamm and Barbara Wanner, both of Schleitheim.
