Reinhard Brenneisen, born abt 1760 in Baden, Germany, was probably in his late teens when he went to live in Solothurn and worked for/with Herr von Suri who owned 2 factories for the production of cotton goods. Herr von Suri sent Reinhard to Lyon and Grenoble, France to study machine spinning. After returning to Solothurn, Reinhard married Maria Anna Baumgartner. Their first child that I know of was born about 1790. In 1794, Reinhard and his family moved to Milan, Italy where he built a mill, probably a silk mill. After 2 years, they returned to Switzerland. In about 1804, Reinhard moved the family back to Germany.
Does anyone know how to find church records (probably Catholic) in Solothurn?
