Researching the Wittner/Witner/Witmer surname.
Some research indicates the name comes from the Cantons of Zurich and Bern. Nothing substantial to go on here. Anyone in Switzerland ever hear of this surname??
The surname is being researched in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania, USA. Emigration approximately mid 1700's-early 1800's.
