I am first generation American born Kavalar, searching for original records from Weissenfels,Austria(Karnten), St. Leonard Catholic Church. This village since the big war is Fusine Valromano, Italy. Are these records in Klagenfurt, Austria or Udine, Italy. I am planning a trip to Austria in the first part of July & I would like to review the original records. I have review microfilm at the Latter Day Saints but some of the pages are missing that may be important to my research. Any assistance is appreciated.
I have noticed on a Eurocart map that there is now a village called Kavalar at the, I belive, western shore of Lake Weissensee (about ten miles southwest of Spittal) & would like to find out more about this villages origins, since I believe it was named after our family.
